Edward W. Wikar
Apr 9, 2018Ed was born in Ludlow, MA to Charles and Catherine Wikar. He attended Ludlow schools and was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Union Local #108.Ed was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing and hunting. If he wasn’t fishing with his friends and family, he was thinking about fishing, getting ready to go fishing or making lures and tying flies for fishing. Ed spent summers fishing Cape Cod Bay for striped bass, and he took bi-annual fly-fishing trips to Pulaski, NY with his sons and their friends for steelhead trout and salmon. He also enjoyed clamming and lobstering on the Cape, making his own pots. From a young age, Ed also had a passion for hockey. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan, but he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play, often traveling to tournaments around New England, Detroit, St. Louis and Atlanta. He would always tell his grandchildren to “keep your skates sharp and two hands on the stick.”Left to treasure his memory are Michael and Stacey Wikar, Mark Wikar, Christine Brouillette, Rick Brouillette, Carolyn Wikar, his brother Charlie Wikar, grandchildren Jakob Wikar, Josh Brouillette, Haden Wikar, Sedona Wikar, Danielle Brouillette, and Nolan Wikar, and numerous hunting and fishing friends. His family is very proud to report that upon his death, Ed was transported to the University of Alabama in Birmingham to donate his liver and kidneys.Visiting hours for Edward will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10:00am-11:45am at Ludlow Funeral Home, concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm. The family asks you to spend a day outdoors this year with someone special to honor Ed and/or make a donation in his name to the Ludlow Hockey Association, PO Box 627, Ludlow, MA 01056.For additional information, please visit www.ludlowfuneralhome.com...
